Soda Frozen Borek

Soda Frozen Borek

Ingredients:

  • 5 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1/2 block of cheese
  • Parsley
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil

For the Sauce:

  • 1 bottle of soda/mineral water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

For the Topping:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Lay the phyllo dough on a flat surface. Brush each sheet with vegetable oil. Fold the phyllo dough in half and cut it into 6 pieces.
  2. Place the cheese filling at one end of each phyllo dough piece, then roll it up like a cigar. Repeat this process with all the phyllo dough.
  3. Place the rolled boreks in freezer bags or a container, and cover them with plastic wrap. Store them in the freezer.
  4. When you’re ready to bake the boreks, dip them in a mixture of soda and vegetable oil for about 1 minute. Then place them on a baking tray.
  5. Brush the tops of the boreks with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the boreks for 30 minutes until they become golden and crispy.
  7. Your soda frozen boreks are now ready to be served. Enjoy!
