Quince Dessert Recipe

INGREDIENTS
- 3 ekmek ayva (bread quinces)
- 9 tablespoons sugar
- 5-6 hibiscus flowers
- 1 cup water

INSTRUCTIONS
- Peel and halve the quinces, removing the core bed.
- Place the quinces in a pot and sprinkle 1.5 tablespoons of sugar over each quince. 1 tablespoon will be sufficient as well.
- Place quince peels, hibiscus flowers, and a cinnamon stick between the quinces, then add water.
- Cover the pot and cook the quinces over low heat until they are half tender. Flip them over and cook for a little longer in that position. Keep the quinces covered in the pot until they cool down.
- As they cool, the quinces will both regain their shape and become slightly more reddish.
- Once cooled, add walnuts to the center of the quinces. Serve with whipped cream, whipped topping, or cream on top.
