Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the sauce:
- 1 1/2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- Thyme
- Salt
For the toppings:
- Sausage
- Ham
- 2 green peppers
- Grated cheddar cheese
- Corn
- Olives
- (You can use any toppings you like.)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the milk, water, olive oil, sugar, and yeast. Stir until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the sauce by combining the tomato paste, water, olive oil, thyme, and salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it in half. Roll out each half of the dough into a thin circle.
- Spread the sauce over the dough and top with your favorite toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy!
