Legendary Moist Cake
For the Cake:
- Large square baking dish
- 3 eggs at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (you can add a little more if your eggs are large)
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 packet vanilla extract
- 1 packet baking powder
For the Sauce:
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon Nutella (optional)
In a suitable bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar until creamy. Add milk and vegetable oil, mix well. Gradually add the sifted flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and baking powder into the egg mixture, and stir until you have a homogeneous batter.
Grease and lightly flour the baking dish, then pour the batter into it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Prepare the sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients, except for Nutella, in a saucepan. Cook over low heat until well combined. Turn off the heat and add Nutella, stir until it completely melts. Let the sauce cool to room temperature.
Once the cake is out of the oven, use a toothpick to poke holes all over the cake. Pour the lukewarm sauce over the cake. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, slice the cake and serve as desired. Enjoy your delightful moist cake!
