Cypriot Meatballs


  • 4 potatoes
  • 200g minced meat
  • 1 onion
  • 1 egg
  • Half a cup of breadcrumbs
  • Quarter bunch of finely chopped parsley
  • Black pepper, cumin, salt


  1. Start by grating the potatoes and squeeze out the excess water. Transfer the grated potatoes to a deep bowl.
  2. Add minced meat, grated onion, and egg to the bowl with potatoes.
  3. Add breadcrumbs, finely chopped parsley, black pepper, cumin, and salt to the mixture. Mix everything well until all the ingredients are combined.
  4. Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Shape the mixture into meatballs.
  6. Cook the meatballs in a pan with a little oil, turning them on both sides until they are cooked thoroughly.
  7. You can serve the Cypriot meatballs with tomatoes, peppers, and cubed fried potatoes on the side.
