Crispy Chicken Baguettes
Ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken baguettes (can also be made with wings)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon salt
Instructions:
- First, place the baguettes in a deep pot. Add enough water to cover them and add salt. Boil until they become tender. Once cooked, remove the chicken pieces from the pot and let them cool down.
- In a deep bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, breadcrumbs, curry powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with water.
- Dip the cooled chicken baguettes first in the egg mixture and then in the flour mixture, making sure they are well coated.
- Place the coated baguettes on a plate, cover them, and let them rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- After the resting period, re-dip the chicken baguettes in the egg mixture and then in the flour mixture again.
- Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep frying pan and fry the baguettes in batches until they turn golden brown and crispy. Stir occasionally to ensure even frying.
- Once they are fully cooked, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve the Crispy Chicken Baguettes with some french fries or your favorite side dish.
