Crispy Chicken Baguettes


  • 1 kg chicken baguettes (can also be made with wings)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon salt


  1. First, place the baguettes in a deep pot. Add enough water to cover them and add salt. Boil until they become tender. Once cooked, remove the chicken pieces from the pot and let them cool down.
  2. In a deep bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, breadcrumbs, curry powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with water.
  4. Dip the cooled chicken baguettes first in the egg mixture and then in the flour mixture, making sure they are well coated.
  5. Place the coated baguettes on a plate, cover them, and let them rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. After the resting period, re-dip the chicken baguettes in the egg mixture and then in the flour mixture again.
  7. Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep frying pan and fry the baguettes in batches until they turn golden brown and crispy. Stir occasionally to ensure even frying.
  8. Once they are fully cooked, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  9. Serve the Crispy Chicken Baguettes with some french fries or your favorite side dish.
